BHAGAVAN IMPROVES MY SELF-WORTH

In the earlier blog, I told you how Amma guided me to get a job with Mumbai Mirror. Click here to read that one. I have to mention the interview that I attended before I got the job and Bhagavan’s hand in it.

I went to the TOI office on a Tuesday for the interview. I went upstairs to the third floor where the HR department was situated and waited along with a few others.

My turn came in a short while and Sagorika met me. I gave her my name and sat down. She asked me what I had come for. I told her that she had called me for an interview and that’s why I was there. She looked at me up and down and asked, “Do you have a copy of your biodata? I don’t remember calling you.”

I was rather startled. I need to mention here that the HR department at TOI is quite efficient and I don’t really know how I got a call for the interview from Sagorika and she could not recall the incident. It did make me wonder whether Bhagavan had something to do with it.

I gave her the neat copy that I was carrying with me. She went through it, asked someone to give me a test and asked a few more questions and told me to wait. After half an hour, Sagorika confirmed that I had a job with Mumbai Mirror as the Copy Editor of the Listings pages. I was zapped, to put it mildly.

I went and met the features editor and then the editor of Mirror. Everything sailed through.

I had left my last job at the school before five years and my final salary had been Rs. 7,000. I had no clue what newspapers paid for jobs like mine. I asked Bhagavan what the right amount would be.

I could feel Bhagavan at my shoulder as he whispered to me, “Ask for Rs. 20,000”.

I am sure you can imagine my shock. I was 44 years old, a B.Com, with just three years of work experience in a school administration. Why would they pay me so much? Even today, I am surprised how they took a commerce graduate in. I did very well in my job is all thanks to Bhagavan, of course.

I argued with Bhagavan throughout the time I waited. That was for about 20 minutes. I told him that even Rs. 10,000 would be too much. What if they told me that I was asking too much and did not give me the job? My self-confidence was not at its best.

Bhagavan, as usual, was very insistent and told me that I should not accept a rupee less than Rs. 20,000.

The argument was not over when I was back at Sagorika’s desk to discuss money. She asked me what I expected. I was scared of opening my mouth while Bhagavan continued to whisper the amount in my ear.

I told Sagorika, “I have been out of the job market for a while and schools are not great paymasters. Can you tell me what you are ready to pay?”

My first surprise came when she told me, “Rs. 15,000” and wrote it on the paper she was writing my details on.

Bhagavan said, “Ask for Rs. 20,000, she will agree. Don’t accept Rs. 15,000”.

It was true that it was God giving me the advice. But I was too scared and my heart was beating too hard within me.

Bhagavan would just not let me agree to what Sagorika was offering. I told her softly, “The timings are also strange as you want me to come in at 12 noon and work till 8 pm. Can you make that Rs. 20,000?”

Sagorika did not open her mouth. She took her pen, struck the amount that she had written originally and wrote Rs. 20,000 immediately.

Sagorika’s parting shot was, “So, you are joining the day-after-tomorrow, right? Please don’t ditch us. The features editor is desperate for an assistant.”

How do you like that?

THAT DAY BHAGAVAN SHOWED ME THAT MY WORTH WAS WAY MORE THAN WHAT I BELIEVED!

Ananta Kodi Pranam to my DEAR AMMA BHAGAVAN!

SURRENDERING TO GOD

This was sometime in June 2005. I had returned from that trip in Chennai when Bhagavan had insisted that I give money at the temple. Click here for that story.

I was not aware of Bhagavan’s plans for me. I had given the money away at the temple without expecting any return. I was slowly sliding into a breakdown as I had no job and being a quiet housewife was just not me. I had written three novels by now and they were not getting published either. The family was running only on my husband’s income and it was not easy.

One day, Amma came in front of me and said, “Sundari, you do 11 shashtang namaskarams every day, in front of the Srimurti. See how your life changes after that.”

In those days, although I prayed to Amma, I could not connect with her as much as I could to Bhagavan. It took me a long time to realize that they both are one and the same. Whenever there was a need for transformation in my outer world, Amma used to talk to me. Otherwise, most of the time, the need was in the inner world and that’s why the connection with Bhagavan.

About the namaskarams

I started doing them right from the day Amma told me to. This was on a Thursday.

In those days, my daughter had done an intern’s job for Mumbai Mirror during her summer holidays. The BMM course that she was doing demanded that the students work during the summer and show a certificate for the same. She had gone to the TOI building to collect her salary and certificate and I had just accompanied her. This was Friday, the second day of my namaskarams.

Not realizing the divine plan, I just happened to give a crumpled copy of my biodata at the Times of India office in CST. I had been on the lookout for a job since five years and used to carry a biodata with me at all times. The dispatch clerk told me to leave it with him. I did not even have an envelope or a covering letter. I just decided to leave it there on an impulse.

The namaskarams continued. On Monday (Day 5), I got a call from the HR of TOI to go there for an interview. I just could not believe it. I asked that lady over and over to confirm things and also asked her for her name. Her name was Sagorika and I was not familiar with such a name and requested her to spell it for me.

I went for the interview on Tuesday and got a job with Mumbai Mirror on that very same day and joined worked on the Thursday.

Can you believe the power of namaskarams? Amma gave me a lot of gyaan about it much later.

I asked her, “Why is it that men do shashtang namaskarams while women just do namaskarams? You have given me this advice and I have followed it. It’s brought transformation into my life. But all women don’t do shashtang namaskarams. The Hindu religion does not encourage it.”

I could not but recall Bhagavan’s teaching, “You have to unlearn everything that you have learned”.

Amma said, “Shashtang Namaskarams are a means of surrendering yourself to the divine will. In yonder days, both men and women used to do it. But when men thought that women might become superior to them in everything, they felt threatened and changed the way women prayed. That’s why this came about. Usually, surrender needs to happen in the inner world. But what happens is that you cannot take any action in the inner world. You can only be aware that you don’t have surrender. When you seek surrender from deep within, doing namaskarams in the outer world gives it a push to get you closer to the surrender state. And then, the whole universe is yours.”

Amma had transformed my world that simply!

WOW! I AM JUST SPEECHLESS WITH GRATITUDE.

BHAGAVAN BRINGS PROSPERITY INTO MY LIFE

This happened in May 2005. Amma used to give public darshan at Nemam in those days. I went to Chennai for a couple of weeks and managed to go to Nemam on three different occasions to take Her darshan.

This was during my third visit. I was to leave Chennai in two days’ time and was running low on cash. Venkat had just settled into his new business and I had no job. I always had the habit of keeping Rs. 500 over and above what expenses I expected during every outing.
Bhagavan looked like this in my vision, only tall
enough to touch the skies. And his right hand was
extended towards me

A few minutes before I reached the Nemam Temple premises, Bhagavan spoke from within me. He told me, “Sundari, you put that 500 rupee note in the Hundi when you reach the temple.”

My relationship with Bhagavan was and is very comfortable and He is my BEST FRIEND. I could be free in saying anything to my SUPREME FRIEND.

I replied, “No, Bhagavan. I think I will run short on cash. I will not put that cash in the temple. I need it till I get back to Mumbai.”

You might find it difficult to believe that Bhagavan insisted repeatedly that I do as He said. I had given Him total freedom in interfering in my life. Otherwise, the Antaryaamin never gives uninvited advice.

When I also refused repeatedly, something happened suddenly to shake me up. I could see Bhagavan standing tall, rising up to the skies in the form called ‘Vishwaroopam’. He stretched his right hand and said, “Give me the money, Sundari”. How could I refuse? I put the money in the Hundi and went home.

I have heard a lot of people say, ‘why do they ask for money at the temple?’ And I am sure many will wonder ‘how can God ask for money from someone, and that too demand?’

The answer to this is very simple. When we give money out, the universe returns it many times over. In fact, whatever we sow, we reap many times over. The Divine had decided it was time for me to get a lot of money had set the ball rolling in this fashion.

I have to mention here the way I pray. I always say that “Bhagavan loves me a million times as much as I love him”. That’s the ratio of our relationship.

So, after insisting that I pay the 500 rupees at the temple, Bhagavan set out to return that money – a million times over. He is still returning it, in fact. He found me a job, in cahoots with Amma (all divine planning, there is another story in that) and got me a huge salary. I neither had the qualification nor experience for that.

I AM HUMBLED AT HOW THE DIVINE WENT INTO THE STATE OF YAASHAKAM* TO BLESS ME WITH PROSPERITY. SUCH IS THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR US. THANK YOU BHAGAVAN!

*Yaashakam is asking for alms

Healing: MY HUSBAND’S ELBOW

Venkat is able to bend his elbow completely
My husband Venkat had an accident when he was walking near Cinemax Multiplex, Sion. A car came out of the theatre just as he was going to cross and he fell down. Venkat broke his elbow as it cracked on the platform.

We went to an excellent orthopedic who said that Venkat needed to be operated on and a small piece of bone at his elbow will need to be removed, as it was completely broken. The doctor also said that Venkat will never get normal movement on his right arm and will not be able to bend the arm or touch his shoulder with his hand ever.

I had absolute trust in my AMMA BHAGAVAN and just prayed that they take care of everything. Venkat underwent the surgery and was discharged the same day. While the doctor had said that he might have to remain in the hospital for 2 days, Venkat came home the same day as the doctor was convinced that I could take care of him.

Venkat recovered quite fast and soon went for physiotherapy. While the physiotherapist was confident that she will be able to bring about maximum movement to his elbow, even she was promising about 80%.

But then, neither of them knew the miraculous healing and love given by Sri Amma Bhagavan. Venkat got completely healed and his arm works 100% and he has never missed that small piece of bone that was removed from his elbow.

THANK YOU AMMA BHAGAVAN! I LOVE YOU TWO!

VENKATRAMANA GOVINDA GOVINDA!

Tirupati Balaji

I keep getting visions on and off. They are very clear. One day, I was feeling emotional that my sisters living in Chennai got a lot of opportunities to take the darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirupati. I very rarely got to go there and I felt quite sad about it.

As I was thinking of Lord Venkatramana with tears in my eyes, I suddenly saw him in my vision. He was standing in my kitchen. The Lord was so big that He was almost touching the ceiling and was so wide that He filled the breadth of the kitchen floor. He looked exactly as He does at Tirupati.

I told the Lord that I was feeling very upset that I could not visit Tirupati more often. He asked me, “Why do all of you want to visit me at Tirupati? Why don’t you call me home? I would love to come visit you.”

I was startled to hear this – the Lord was ready to come home and visit me instead of my making the effort to go to Tirupati.

I asked the Lord, “What prasadham do you like, Bhagavan? I will keep that ready for you when you come.”

“I like anything that is given to me out of love. In fact, I see the four of you sitting together for dinner every day and feel the urge to join you. I like ‘Thayir Saadham’ (curd rice) more than anything else.”

I was thrilled with what He told me and asked Him to visit us whenever He wanted to.

This happened about 8 years ago. I met a school friend recently when I visited Chennai. When I told her about this vision, she told me something that simply amazed me.

My friend said, “Do you know, Sundari? At Tirupati, they make many types of prasadhams like Laddu, Pongal, Puliyodharai, etc. But every time, the prasadham that they offer the Lord is only ‘Thayir Saadham’.

Is anyone surprised when I say that I broke out in goose-pimples on hearing this?

GOD IS PURE LOVE! THANK YOU LORD VENKATRAMANA!

Incidentally, Lord Balaji decided to come and live as close to me as possible and has taken abode in Sion. Click here to read more….

MOBILE MYSTERY MIRACLE

I am not very sure how long ago this happened. My Antaryaamin was very active by then. Vignesh and I went on a trip to Tirupati along with my sister and brother-in-law by their car. We left Chennai early in the morning to reach the temple about noon.

We tried for special darshan and what not and nothing seemed to be working. Finally, my BIL took a decision to do a special puja costing Rs. 2000 and we got four passes to have the darshan of Lord Balaji too. The puja went off very well and then we had to get into the queue when we saw a board saying that mobiles were not allowed inside.

My BIL had a mobile phone. We were not too keen to leave it at the counter outside as we were very sure that collecting it after the darshan would probably take away precious time and delay our return to Chennai further.

When we were wondering how to avoid it, my sister suddenly told me to pray and we decided to go inside with the mobile switched off. We did not foresee the x-ray machine at the security window. All this was quite new at Tirupati in those days.

I told Amma Bhagavan that we were going in with the cell phone and no one should catch or stop us. We were anyway not planning to use the phone inside. On my sister’s instructions, I took the mobile instrument and put it inside my hand-bag where I usually carry at least one Srimurti.

Lo and behold! The x-ray machine did not show the mobile instrument in my bag. Sounds incredible? But that is the truth.

We had a super darshan and came out. My BIL could not believe that it could have been a miracle. He thought that maybe the security guards just missed seeing the phone. I asked Bhagavan how it could be proved to him. I pulled the mobile out to give it to my BIL and he was amazed to find that it had been switched on. By the way, in those days, I had absolutely no knowledge of mobiles and could not have switched it on to safe my life.

Bhagavan laughingly told me that He had switched it on to make my BIL believe in the miracle.

I was truly amazed at Bhagavan’s love and humorous nature! Yeah, He can be quite mischievous and I just love that quality of Bhagavan's.

THANK YOU BHAGAVAN!

Healing: AMMA TO THE RESCUE

Srimurti

My parents live in Chennai. About four years ago, a Christian woman used to do the house work at their home.

The lady’s daughter’s wedding was fixed and she was very happy when she brought an invitation to my parents.

A few days later, the same woman was in tears when she came to my mother and said, “My daughter has been diagnosed with tumour. She has a lump on her breast and the doctor insists that we cancel the wedding immediately. He also says that the tumour could be malignant. She needs to be hospitalized immediately for further tests.”

My mother gave her Amma Bhagavan’s Srimurti that had the Moola Mantram written on it in Tamil. She told the servant, “Amma & Bhagavan are Gods. I know you are a Christian and might not want to read the Moola Mantram. But the Srimurti is very powerful. Ask your daughter to keep it with her. She will become perfectly alright.”

The servant said, “My daughter can read. I will ask her to say this Mantram,” and took the Srimurti from my mother.

The girl had been saying the Moola Mantram and had been carrying the Srimurti with her when she was hospitalized almost immediately after.

On the first night at the hospital, while sleeping, the girl had a dream.

She was standing at a bus stop waiting for a bus. Suddenly, Amma (from the picture that she had with her) walked up to her, put her hand on the girl’s chest and pulled out something. Amma walked away without uttering a word.

The girl woke up in the morning and wondered what that was all about.

The doctor took her for further tests. They searched and searched for the lump that was just not there. They even did some more tests to find that the girl was completely normal.

It has been almost five years since this incident. The girl is happily married and a mother to boot.

JAI HO AMMA BAGHAVAN! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Healing: MY SISTER’S EYES BECAME NORMAL

Sabitha - long ago and recently
This happened some time in 2003. My sister Sabitha had been wearing specs since her school days. My Antaryaamin had been communicating clearly within me and I had been getting a lot of messages and lessons since January 2003.

One day, during my evening walk, I could see Amma in front of me. She told me, “You are so keen on healing people, why don’t you give healing to your sister’s eyes?”

I asked Amma, “Sabi is living in Chennai. I am here at Mumbai. How can I give healing? I need to be near her and touch her when I do that.”

Amma smiled and said, “You can give her distant healing. In fact, do it just now, as you are walking.”

Believe it or not, that’s exactly what I did. I prayed for Sabitha’s eyesight.

It was around 5.30 pm when I gave distant healing to Sabitha’s eyes. At the same time, her specs fell down and broke to pieces. She had been watching a cricket match on TV at that time. She looked at the screen without her specs and was amazed to be able to read the score on the small screen.

Such was the miracle that Amma performed that day. Sabitha had been wearing specs since 1978 or so. After 25 years, her eyes got healed in a second due to Amma’s grace. Till today, Sabitha is able to work on the computer and also read without wearing spectacles.

THANK YOU AMMA BHAGAVAN!

I JUST STARTED WRITING ONE FINE DAY

My published novel
I know the title sounds very strange, but then, that is the truth. I had just quit my admin job at the school I had been working at. I was in a limbo as I had got used to keeping busy and I did not much care for so much time on my hands. I was vaguely looking for a job, but did not like the few that came my way.

I had a lot of time to journey within myself. And that’s exactly what I did. I have always loved reading and did a lot of that too. In fact, you could call me quite the book worm.

But during this period, I was in a constant state of irritation and nothing seemed to interest me. Yeah, even my best friend – the book. I used to communicate a lot with God, even though my Antaryaamin was not fully awakened within me. I used to communicate with Amma Bhagavan of Oneness University as I had realized that they were Avatars after a few experiences during the courses that I attended there.

During one of my walks, I was so disturbed and upset that I went on nagging Bhagavan to show me a way. I was literally boiling inside, not knowing which way to go. I did not know how to get rid of my frustration and there was just too much energy within me, without a direction.

It was a few years later that Bhagavan told me from within, “Sambar or Rasam tastes much better when it is boiled well. So, when emotions boil within you, the result is way better than something that is born without internal effort.” My God, that is so true.

That evening, I returned home, suddenly picked up some papers and started writing my first novel. Yeah, out of the blue. This was some time in August 2000.

I had always been useless when it came to writing. I speak English very well, but have always been terrible at writing essays, composition or any such, in school as well as in college. Later on, when I used to help my kids with their studies, I could teach them all the subjects, even Maths and Science as high as Std. IX (ICSE), but I just could not help them with their essays. My husband used to step in at those moments.

That same person, that’s ME, started writing a novel. I wrote 18 pages on A4 size ruled sheets. Can you believe that? It was a wonder for me too.

I recalled this Tamil film that I had seen as a kid – Saraswathi Sabadham. In that, Sivaji Ganesan played the role of an illiterate who cannot speak. By Goddess Saraswathi’s blessings, he begins talking suddenly and even becomes learned in a jiffy. I sincerely believe that my writing skills were born on those lines.

Today, I have a published novel and have worked at Mumbai Mirror, Timesgroup, for 2 years. Later, for about 5 ½ years, I worked at two different websites belonging to the CNBC Group – www.buzz18.com & www.burrp.com.

I am a freelancer now and run five blogs, all singlehanded. All this is due to Amma Bhagavan’s grace.

My Blogs:

Flaming Sun – Varied articles consisting of Film Reviews, Food Reviews, Travel, Spirituality, Health and more.

Cupid Strike Series – This is a romance novel series blog, where I have published my novels.

Rising Sun – This is a photo blog where I post one picture every day with a few words about what the picture means to me.

Shimmering Sun – Short Story blog. I had published ten short stories on Flaming Sun and you will find the links for them here. I have two more published on this blog. Hope to add more soon.

Ascension Miracles – This is my latest offering. Actually, this should have been the first as everything began here. This is all about my real life experiences, my learning and more as my Level of Consciousness increases with the changing energies propelling the Earth towards THE GOLDEN AGE.

I can only say THANK YOU GOD!
